Dynamic fonts

Kesuda now uses dynamic fonts which in simple terms means that you do not have to load any fonts for viewing its contents. This is valid for Netscape but there is a slight difference in the way the dynamic fonts are handled by Internet Explorer so a few words here are in order.

Internet Explorer

The first time you log into Kesuda, wait till the first page is fully loaded. You may see garbage consisting of English characters. Once loading is done wait till a window pops up asking your permission to download 'Bitstream Webfont Player'. Say 'yes.'

Some automatic downloading will take place. Once it is finished, hit 'refresh' button on the browser and all English-character garbage will get converted to Gujarati characters that make sense.

However, sometimes Internet Explorer may show Gujarati characters sprinkled with some garbage English text. Do the following

Internet Explorer: From the browser menu select 'View -> encoding -> User Defined.' and the disply clears up.

Netscape

Netscape does not need down loading of font player. It should directly show Gujarati characters.

However, sometimes Netscape may show Gujarati characters sprinkled with some garbage English text. Do the following

From the browser menu select 'View -> character Set -> User defined' and the disply clears up.

Fine tuning Real Audio Player

When you run into problems playing Real Audio, try the following. This was a very useful application note provided by Real Audio.

   If the bandwidth setting on the RealPlayer G2 is set too high,
   sometimes the RealPlayer G2 will have problems staying connected
   to the broadcast. Make sure the RealPlayer G2 is setup to
   receive a broadcast at a bit rate slower than the computer's
   internet connection.

   NOTE: If the computer dials into the internet, the dial up software
   usually informs you of the speed of the internet connection.
   Modem speed and connection speed are two different things: the
   modem speed is the maximum speed that the computer can connect to
   the internet.

   To adjust the bandwidth on the RealPlayer G2, please perform the
   following procedure.

    Double click on the RealPlayer icon.
    Click on View ->
    Click on Normal.

    Click on Options ->
    Click on Preferences.
    Click on the Connection tab.
    Change the Normal Bandwidth setting to a speed slower than the
    computer's internet connection speed.
    Change the Maximum Bandwidth setting to the computer's modem speed
    (maximum speed for the connection type).
    Click on OK.
    Close the RealPlayer so that new settings take hold.
